Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain active AAMA certification and membership in good standing
  • Demonstrate current involvement in teaching, training, mentorship, or educational development
  • Provide information regarding educational activities, programs, or instructional work
  • Submit a brief professional statement outlining educational involvement and philosophy

Educator applications are reviewed and conferred at the discretion of the AAMA Board based on demonstrated educational contribution and professional involvement.


Professional Statement Requirement

Applicants are asked to submit a brief professional statement (approximately 250–400 words) addressing:

  • Their role in teaching, mentorship, or education
  • Types of programs, courses, or audiences served
  • Their educational approach and philosophy
  • Commitment to advancing practitioner development and professional standards

This information assists the Board in evaluating educational involvement and contribution to the profession.


Educator Designation & Active Status

The Educator Designation is an annual recognition added to an existing AAMA credential or membership profile.

Recognition remains active while the member maintains:

  • Active AAMA membership
  • Good standing status
  • Annual Educator renewal requirements

Active standing allows AAMA to:

  • Verify current professional status
  • Maintain educator recognition within public directory listings
  • Support accurate professional verification and member benefits

The Educator Designation is a professional recognition program and is not a teaching license, academic degree, governmental credential, or authorization to practice medicine.
