Who is eligible to apply for AADP Board Certification?

AADP Board Certification is available to qualified practitioners who practice drugless, non-invasive, holistic, natural health, integrative wellness, or complementary health modalities.

Applicants must submit documentation of education, training, and/or relevant professional experience for review. Certification represents professional recognition based on documented credentials and alignment with AADP standards. AADP does not issue state licensure or medical licenses.

Is AADP Board Certification Lifetime?

Yes. Once granted, AADP Board Certification is a lifetime credential recognizing that you met our professional standards at the time of approval.

However, active membership must be maintained annually to remain “In Good Standing” and to access member benefits.

What is the difference between Board Certification and Active Membership?

Board Certification reflects qualification earned.

Active Membership reflects current standing.

Only Active Members:

• Appear in the public directory
• Receive verification services
• Access insurance referrals
• Use current seals and logos
• Receive member benefits

What happens if I let my membership lapse?

If your membership lapses:

• You retain your historical Board Certification
• You may not represent yourself as an active AADP member
• You will not appear in the directory
• Member benefits are suspended

If your membership has been inactive for more than ten (10) years, formal reinstatement review is required.

Why does AADP distinguish between certification and membership?

This protects:

• The credibility of the credential
• The public trust
• The professional standing of active members

When AADP verifies someone, we must be able to confidently stand behind that representation.

What are the certification and membership fees?

The current fees are:

  • $295 one-time Board Certification & application review fee

  • $175 annual membership renewal fee beginning after the first year

Membership renewal includes continued certification recognition, member verification listing, and access to member resources.

How long does the certification review process take?

Once a completed application and required documentation are received, most evaluations are completed within approximately 2–3 weeks.

Upon approval, members receive:

  • A formal acceptance notification

  • A digital certificate

  • A printed certificate and wallet card (U.S. and Canada)

International members receive a digital certificate.

Do I need to graduate from a school listed on your website?

No. AADP recognizes education and training from a wide range of institutions and programs.

All applications are reviewed based on submitted documentation and eligibility criteria. Schools do not need to be previously listed with AADP for practitioner eligibility.

Can practitioners outside the United States apply?

Yes. AADP serves practitioners throughout the United States and internationally.

Certification standards apply consistently regardless of geographic location, although members must comply with their local laws and regulations governing practice.

Does AADP provide practice-building support?

Yes. Members may contact AADP for general guidance regarding practice development, professional positioning, and ethical marketing standards at no additional charge.

AADP does not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.

Can AADP help with professional liability insurance?

AADP does not provide insurance directly; however, we may provide referrals to independent insurance providers that serve holistic and drugless practitioners.

Members are responsible for evaluating coverage options independently.

Are group or same-office discounts available?

Discounts may be available for multiple practitioners within the same office. Please contact our office for current details.

Can I obtain a mailing list of AADP members?

To protect member privacy and prevent solicitation, AADP does not distribute full membership lists.

Practitioner verification is available through our member directory or by contacting members@aadp.net.

What does AADP Board Certification represent?

AADP Board Certification represents professional recognition within drugless and holistic health disciplines based on documented training, experience, and agreement to ethical standards.
